Privacy Policy

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third-party services.

Information You Provide

• Account registration: email address, password (hashed), full name, and account type (seeker or expert).
• Expert profile: biography, tagline, professional background, session price, availability, and uploaded video clips.
• Payment information: billing details submitted through Stripe. TalkReel does not store raw card numbers — Stripe holds all payment credentials.
• Communications: messages you send to support, feedback you submit, and dispute information.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, time spent, session history, and booking records.
• Device and browser information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and referring URL.
• Cookies and similar technologies: described in detail in Section 5 below.
• Video session metadata: session duration, connection quality indicators, and end-of-session timestamps. Video content itself is transmitted peer-to-peer via Daily.co and is not recorded or stored by TalkReel unless you explicitly enable recording.

Information from Third Parties

• Stripe: payment status, transaction identifiers, and fraud signals.
• Supabase Auth: authentication tokens and session management data.
• If you log in via a social provider (where offered), we receive your name and email from that provider.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train external AI models without your explicit consent.

We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Daily.co (video), and Resend (transactional email). Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
• Between users: an Expert's public profile (name, bio, tagline, clips) is visible to all platform users. Booking details (names and confirmed session time) are shared between the booked Expert and Seeker.
• Legal compliance: where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or to protect the rights and safety of TalkReel, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfil legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. Specifically:

• Account data is retained for the life of your account plus 3 years.
• Booking and payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and financial regulations.
• Uploaded video content is retained until you delete it or close your account.
• Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@talkreel.ai. Certain data may be retained beyond this period where required by law or to resolve outstanding disputes.

TalkReel uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms for the following purposes:

You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from staying logged in. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or serve targeted advertising.

The Service integrates with the following third-party providers. Their own privacy policies govern the data they collect:

• Stripe — Payment processing. stripe.com/privacy
• Supabase — Database, file storage, and authentication. supabase.com/privacy
• Daily.co — Real-time video sessions. daily.co/privacy
• Resend — Transactional email delivery. resend.com/privacy

TalkReel is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their policies.

We implement industry-standard measures to protect your personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, row-level security on our database, and access controls that limit who within our team can access user data.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law within 72 hours of becoming aware.

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure: request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Restriction: request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@talkreel.ai. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@talkreel.ai.

TalkReel is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms approved by relevant data protection authorities.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the "Effective" date above and notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
